Bra - FAQ
How do I know if my bra fitting is correct?
Here are simple steps for you to check how your bra fits you:
Cups: The top of your cup and the body should meet seamlessly. The cup should form to the curve of your breasts without gaping or spilling over.
Straps: The straps should sit snugly on your shoulders without digging and leaving a mark on your skin. Read here how to prevent bra straps from slipping.
Band: The band of the bra should sit straight on your back. If it rides up, it means that the size is big for you. And if your band is digging on to your skin, it means that the size is small. In both these case, we recommend you to find a different size.
What’s the best way to put on the bra?
Start by guiding each arm through the strap loop until the strap is resting on your shoulder. Then, take the two band ends and clasp them behind you by using the hook setting. Once this is done, Bend forward and, using the opposite hand, scoop your breast so that it is fully cupped in your hand. From here, reposition your breast so it is placed appropriately within the bra cup.
What’s the best way to care for my bras?
Always wash your bras in cold water. Hot water might break down the elastic in the bra and shorten its lifespan. Hand-wash your bras whenever you can. A washing machine could damage the underwire. We understand that it’s not always possible to hand-wash them, so then you can use the gentlest setting on your washing machine and place them in the amanté lingerie washing bags to keep them in shape for longer. Check how to take care your bra.
How often is it ideal to get myself measured?
We recommend that you get yourself measured every 6 months. A woman’s body can go through many changes which can cause her to go up or down in size.
Is it good to wear bra while sleeping?
It depends on the level of your comfort. If you are comfortable wearing bra while sleeping, you can continue doing so.
How often do I need to replace my bras?
It depends on the usage. If you have a favourite bra that you use quite often, then we recommend you to replace it within 6 months’ time. Sparingly used bras can be used up to 1 years’ time.
What is the difference between underwire bra and wireless bra?
Underwired bra comes with a thin semi-circular wire sewn into the cups. They provide ample support and shaping to the bust tissue. While wireless bra as the name suggests, doesn’t come with any underwire sewn into the cups. Check out the difference between wired & non-wired bra.
How is padded bra different from non-padded bra?
Padded bra comes with additional padding in the cups. Generally, foam is used as padding which is sandwiched between two fabrics. Padded bras provide a smooth look under fitted outfits. Non-padded bra is made of a single or 2-ply fabric and doesn’t come with additional padding in the cups.
Which bra is best for daily use?
For everyday wear, we recommend you to try cotton bras. These bras are breathable and can be worn for long hours.
